About

This website is an ongoing series of posts exploring the addiction to gasoline.  The metaphorical outline is the 12 steps of Gasoholics Anonymous that's a tongue in cheek homage to Alcoholics Anonymous.

One question I had before launching this site is the proper spelling of Gasoholics (or should it be Gasaholics?).  I eventually settled on Gasoholics because of similarity to the spelling of Alcoholics.  Anyway..

Who am I?  I'm just this guy who has a burning itch to change the way our transportation system works.  Maybe because of the occasional burning itch in my eyes due to the poisons put out by the existing gasoline based system.  In any case I've worked for a long time as a software engineer in Silicon Valley, writing software to run the Internet.  Before getting software developer training in college I developed an interest in alternate energy and alternate fuels, because of the twin oil crises of the mid 1970's.

My name is David Herron and I write news about electric vehicles on examiner.com, run a large discussion forum about electric vehicles, do other news, writing and blogging about electric vehicles, am an electric vehicle owner, and so on.
